Since Saturday 24 February 2024, the Vialattea link is in operation, connecting the Oulx train station with the Vialattea ski area to reach the resorts of Sestriere, Cesana, Sauze d’Oulx and Claviere.
Vialattea link, is the new intermodal train + bus connection, made available by Trenitalia, the leader company of the Passenger Hub of the FS Group, in collaboration with Vialattea that allows an integrated solution for an increasingly sustainable and green mobility. On the portal www.trenitalia.it it is possible to select the railway station of departure by entering a destination of the Vialattea, for example Sestriere, Sauze d’Oulx or Cesana, choosing the day and time of departure. With a click, the proposed solutions for reaching Sestriere are displayed, purchasing a single ticket that also includes the Vialattea link, i.e. the bus connection up to the 2035 metres of the international tourist resort.
From Roma Termini, for example, you can leave on Sunday morning by Frecciarossa at 6 a.m. and arrive at Sestriere at 2 p.m. Just right for an afternoon ski trip. What’s more, travelling by Frecciarossa you can also enjoy a 25% discount on various types of Vialattea Skipass (daily, two-day or 6-day). In addition to the portal, you can book your trip to Vialattea at all Trenitalia ticket offices by taking advantage of the train + bus link.
The Vialattea link option is also extended to those travelling on Trenitalia Intercity and Regional trains. In this case too, with a single ticket, passengers can travel on Trenitalia trains to Oulx station, from where they will find a bus link to reach one of the areas of the Vialattea ski resort, namely Sestriere, Cesana, Sauze d’Oulx and Claviere.
