Want to ski in Vialattea and don’t know how to get there? With Trenitalia it is very simple and practical. The international ski area of the Vialattea is located in Piedmont and covers 8 ski resorts: Sestriere, Sauze d’Oulx, Pragelato, Cesana, Sansicario, Oulx, Claviere and the French Montgenèvre. The gateway to the district is Oulx, a town that boasts a railway station on the important line connecting Turin to France and is only 6 km from the nearest ski slopes, those of the Sauze d’Oulx ski area. At the railway level, Vialattea is well connected and is served by Regional, Intercity and Frecciarossa trains from all over Italy.
The great news is that from this year it will be even more convenient to travel by train and ski in Vialattea thanks to the important commercial and promotional partnership agreement signed by Trenitalia and Vialattea.
Trenitalia, leading company of the Passenger Hub of the FS Group, as “Official Green Carrier” of Vialattea, fully embraces the new partnership strategy of the international ski area of the Olympic mountains of Piedmont. A collaboration also aimed at carrying out joint commercial activities in order to promote the respective services.
From this initiative emerges, in particular, the focus on increasing awareness of sustainable transport in order to sensitise users to reach the ski resort by green means.
The promotional agreement includes visibility on the slopes with posters and personalisation of some ski lifts and activations through digital platforms such as the website, newsletter and social media.
With the winter timetable of the FS Group Passenger Hub, from Friday to Sunday it will be possible to travel with Frecciarossa to Oulx from Naples, Rome, Florence, Bologna and Milan; on Saturdays and Sundays it is possible to reach Oulx with Intercity trains, while 32 are the connections between Turin and Oulx with Regional trains.
On a commercial level, those who reach the Vialattea ski area by travelling with Trenitalia (Frecce, Intercity and Regional trains) will be able to take advantage of significant discounts, ranging from 20 to 25%, on various types of Vialattea ski passes (daily, 2-day and 6-day).
To benefit from these reductions, simply show your train ticket with the date of travel no more than 3 days before the date of purchase of the ski pass, together with your CartaFRECCIA or X-GO card. These reductions will only be made at the Italian ticket offices of the Vialattea ski area, it will not be possible to purchase online or from automatic cash machines.
