Vialattea is ready to welcome the Ski Mountaineering competitions of the FISU Games 2025 that will be held at night with start and finish in the finish area of the Kandahar G.A. slope in Sestriere. 50 athletes representing 13 nations engaged in three different disciplines of Ski Mountaineering will be at the start-line.
On Thursday 16, the Men’s and Women’s Sprint competition is scheduled over a distance of 1 km for 80 meters of elevation gain. At 6 p.m. we will start with timed qualifying, then batteries (of 6 athletes each) with direct elimination, quarters, semifinals and finals scheduled at 8 p.m.
On Friday 17, it will be the turn of the Mixed Relay for Nations. One man and one woman for each nation will be engaged on a 2 km course with 200 meters of elevation gain. Timed qualifying is scheduled at 6 p.m. followed by the finals reserved only for the best 6 Team Nations.
On Sunday 19, the Vertical race will be held. Two races, Male and Female, with start, mass start, from the tribune area at the bottom of the Kandahar slope and ascent to the arrival station of the Cit Roc chairlift for a distance of 1.6 km and 300 meters of elevation gain.
