GREAT EXCITEMEN FOR THE 42ND UOVO D'ORO LAURETANA

1,592 Athletes at the Starting Line Representing 6 Nations

The slopes of Vialattea are all set to host the 42nd Lauretana Golden Egg, the iconic end-of-season event taking place in Sestriere on Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30. As always, the competition will attract a large turnout of participants from across Italy and abroad, with 1,592 athletes ready to take their places at the starting gate this year. Highlighting the event’s international appeal, athletes from 6 countries will be represented: Italy, France, Spain, Andorra, Switzerland, and Slovenia.

The first day of competition will feature the Allievi categories racing on the G.A. Agnelli track, and the Ragazzi on the Standard track, with the first races kicking off at 9:30 a.m. On Sunday, March 30, the Cuccioli will compete on the G.A. Agnelli, the Baby athletes on the Standard track at 9:30 a.m., and the Super-Baby races will take place on the Sises2 track at 10:00 a.m.

At 2 p.m. on Saturday, there will be a awards ceremony and prize drawing in the finish area for athletes and ski clubs who participated in the first day of competition. On Sunday afternoon, starting at 2 p.m., all Ski Clubs will take part in a colorful parade through the village streets, accompanied by the Musical Corps of Villar Perosa. Then, at 2:30 p.m., the awards ceremony for the second day’s winners will take place in Fraiteve Square.

Every participant will leave with the traditional chocolate egg, and the winning ski club, in addition to their trophy, will also take home a giant chocolate egg!
