FIRST DAY OF COMPETITION FOR THE 42ND UOVO D'ORO LAURETANA

29 March 2025

On Saturday, March 29, the first day of competition for the Junior and Allievi categories kicked off on the slopes of Colle del Sestriere, marking the beginning of the 42nd Lauretana Golden Egg event.

This year, the traditional giant slalom event at Vialattea spans two days. Tomorrow, the Cuccioli, Baby, and Super-Baby categories will take their turn on the slopes.

It was a day filled with fierce competition, but also plenty of joy and fun. A vibrant sponsor village was set up near the finish line, offering entertainment for the crowd. At the end of the race, every participant received a classic chocolate egg, adding a sweet touch of Easter spirit.

In addition to the traditional cup and the impressive prizes from prestigious sponsors, the top 10 finishers in each category were awarded a special Rossignol windstopper, customized for the event. There were also plenty of exciting draw prizes for the lucky winners.

Here are the winners from the first day of competition, starting with the Allievi category. Two athletes tied for the top spot: Giovanni Ceccarelli from Sci Club Borgata Sestriere and Mattia Bruno Tondo from Sci Club ASKILL Livigno. Their thrilling race, decided by mere hundredths of a second, truly showcased the high level of competition at this event. On the women’s side, the fastest was Lavinia Sambuco from Sci Club Livata. In the Junior category, Edoardo Badaracco from Sci Club Les Arnauds and Anna Reita from Sci Club Sestriere claimed victory.

Tomorrow, the Pulcini will take to the slopes for their chance to win the 42nd Lauretana Golden Egg! The day will be dedicated to the youngest competitors in the Cuccioli, Baby, and Super-Baby categories. In the afternoon, at 2:00 p.m., a colorful parade featuring all the participating ski clubs will wind through the village, accompanied by the Villar Perosa Musical Corps. At 2:30 p.m., the prize-giving ceremony and prize draw for athletes and clubs who competed on the second day will take place in Piazza Fraiteve.

The awarding of the 42nd Lauretana Golden Egg trophy will take place tomorrow!
