PHYSICAL LAYOUT

OF THE LAND

Vialattea is synonymous with vast expanses and panoramic slopes that wind through fragrant woods, connecting traditional Occitan chalet villages with modern towns equipped with all comforts.

A broad, varied, and unique ski area capable of offering extraordinary experiences for all mountain enthusiasts. 80% of the ski area is situated above 1900 m, ensuring consistent snow and temperatures optimal for snow production.

The ski region stretches from the 1350 m altitude of Cesana to the 2800 m of Motta peak, offering a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains.

THE VIALATTEA

LIFT SYSTEM

The resort offers 70 ski lifts, including cable cars, gondolas, telemix, ski lifts, magic carpets, and chairlifts, with a transport capacity of over 75,000 people per hour. Ski facilities weave between coniferous forests and vast high-altitude slopes; the ski slopes utilize the natural terrain, allowing skiers to enjoy diverse paths. There are also chalets and shelters for refreshment and relaxation, strategically located throughout the ski area.

The two main hubs of the ski area are represented by Monte Fraiteve, which connects Sestriere with Sauze d’Oulx and Sansicario, and the Monti della Luna, where the slopes of Cesana Torinese, Claviere, and Montgenèvre are located; all the slopes in the ski area are interconnected through these ski facilities.

OUR

SKI SLOPES

Over the years, Vialattea’s slopes have hosted countless international sports events: they have hosted over 30 editions of the Ski World Cup since 1967, served as the venue for the 1997 Alpine Ski World Championships, and featured in the XX 2006 Turin Winter Olympics.

The ski area offers 400km of skiable terrain, spread over 300 interconnected slopes. Each slope is marked with a number and, in some cases, a name and is distinguished by a colour indicating its difficulty level. Whether you choose to start your skiing day from the Sestriere ski resort, Claviere, Sauze d’Oulx, or any other location within the resort, you can spend the entire day skiing without ever having to take off your skis as you explore the whole area.
