THE ALPINE SKIING COMPETITIONS OF THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS WORLD GAMES TORINO 2025 IN SESTRIERE

07 March 2025

Vialattea is ready to welcome the athletes of the Turin 2025 Special Olympics World Games, scheduled from March 8 to 15 in the regional capital of Piedmont and the Alpine resorts of Bardonecchia, Pragelato, and Sestriere.

Over 1,500 athletes from 102 countries will participate, accompanied by more than 2,000 volunteers, 3,000 family members, and over 1,000 coaches and delegation officials.

The Turin 2025 Special Olympics World Games will be the largest sporting and humanitarian event of 2025, showcasing the incredible abilities of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Athletes will compete in eight winter sports: alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, sports dance, figure skating, floorball, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and short track speed skating. Vialattea will provide the slopes of Mount Sises in Sestriere for both training and the Alpine Skiing competitions (Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Super-G) scheduled for March 12, 13, and 15.

The races will take place from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM on the slopes of Mount Alpette: the Giant Slalom on Wednesday, March 12; the Super-G on Thursday, March 13; and the Slalom on Saturday, March 15.

Sestriere will also host the snowshoe competitions (in short, medium, and relay distances), scheduled from March 13 to 15 at the Colle athletics track.
