It’s official! The Alpine Skiing World Cup will stop in Sestriere next winter season. On the occasion of the FIS Congress, held in Milan on 25/26 May, the definitive 2022/2023 Alpine Ski World Cup race calendar was published. The appointment for Sestriere has been set for 10 and 11 December, an entire weekend dedicated to women’s technical disciplines. On the first day, Saturday, the women’s giant slalom will be held and the following day the women’s slalom.
The competition venue will be the track of major sporting events, the Kandahar Giovanni Alberto Agnelli.
“We are very satisfied with this high recognition,” commented Gualtiero Brasso, President of the Sestriere Organising Committee, “and we would like to thank the FIS and the FISI for the trust placed in us. As always, we will do our utmost to promote the name of Sestriere and the Region of Piedmont, which will also support us for this edition, in the best possible way at an international level. We are very happy with the dates that have been assigned to us because they represent a good launch for the winter season that has just begun.”
While waiting for the great return of the World Cup on the slopes of the Vialattea, the Organising Committee is already working with its usual enthusiasm to organise the 2022 edition of this prestigious international competitive event in the best possible way, which will stop at the Col for the last time on 18/19 January 2020.
